OUR HISTORY
The Columbus Bible Way Church was founded and incorporated in 1963 by a group of believers in Christ Jesus who wanted to get back to the original plan of God as dictated by His Word.
This group of people wanted to leave behind them all the traditions and doctrines of men and let the Word of God be the only guide by which to live and serve Him.
The children of God (all those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour) are to be bold, strong, healthy, joyful, peaceful and prosperous, not beaten down and living in constant fear and condemnation. We make up the Body of Christ and surely our Jesus is not a weakly Christ. This is what this small group of people wanted – to serve a Risen Saviour.
They wanted to serve God without a continual passing of offering baskets, without the sale of dinners in the church or in the name of the church, without raffles and ticket sales, without money-raising activities, for these things are not in the Word of God nor were they condoned by Jesus.
They wanted a place to worship, where everyone would be welcome, for God is not a respecter of persons. They wanted people who felt that they were separated from God to know that this is a place they may find refuge from condemnation and fears or criticism for sins committed in the past, but find peace and hope in Jesus Christ. For this purpose Jesus came into the world and for this purpose we have pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets and apostles in the Body of Christ.
The primary goal of The Columbus Bible Way Church, is to teach the saving grace that all can have with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
WEEKLY SERVICES
OUR BELIEFS
WE BELIEVE in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God and inherent in the original writings and that they are of supreme, absolute and the final authority in faith and life.
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary, and that God was in Christ.
WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God and that man sinned, and thereby brought immediate spiritual death, which is separation from God and also physical death which is the consequences of sin; and that all human beings are born with sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral accountability, are sinners in thought, word and deed.
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitute for us; and that all who believe that God raised Him from the dead, are justified and made righteous on the grounds of His eternal redemption.
WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of the crucified body of Jesus, His ascension into heaven and that He is seated at the right hand of God.
WE BELIEVE in the blessed hope of the return of Christ; the personal return of our living Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus.
WE BELIEVE that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ, believing God raised Him from the dead, are born again of the Spirit of God, receiving eternal life, and thereby are children, sons of God.
WE BELIEVE in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust.
